Edelman Financial Engines Advances Growth Strategy with Senior Leadership Appointments

Boston, Mass – May 21, 2026 – Edelman Financial Engines (EFE) announced today a series of senior leadership appointments across its corporate and wealth planning organizations, reinforcing the firm’s continued momentum and long-term commitment to building the premier destination for financial planners and the clients they serve.

This expanded leadership bench reflects EFE’s accelerated investment in the people and infrastructure required to scale personalized, fiduciary financial planning as demand for trusted financial advice continues to rise.

“From the beginning, Edelman Financial Engines forged a unique path in this industry: driven by entrepreneurialism, powered by innovation, and grounded in the tenets of fiduciary advice,” said Ralph Haberli, CEO and President of Edelman Financial Engines. “These appointments reflect our investment in the people, leadership, and innovation that will continue to shape the future of advice, delivered by financial planners empowered to build both enduring client relationships and meaningful careers.”

Building on a Strong Foundation of Financial Leadership

Steve Gaven will join the EFE executive team as Chief Financial Officer, effective June 1, bringing more than 25 years of leadership experience across wealth management and financial services. Throughout his career, he has helped lead organizations through periods of expansion and transformation, including senior leadership roles at both public and privately backed firms. Most recently, Gaven served as Chief Growth Officer at SageView Advisory, where he developed direct experience with the evolving connection between workplace financial solutions and wealth management.

As CFO, Gaven will help guide EFE’s next chapter — strengthening the financial foundation that supports continued innovation in EFE’s unique workplace-to-wealth ecosystem, a key differentiator and growth channel that positions the firm and its planners to create long-term relationships that evolve with clients’ financial lives.

Advancing Human-Centered Financial Planning

As part of its continued investment in planners and their success, EFE also introduced its new wealth planning leadership structure.

Ro Mehrotra joins the firm as Senior Vice President, Wealth Client, bringing more than two decades of experience leading planning organizations and serving clients directly. Mehrotra will oversee EFE’s wealth planning organization, helping to strengthen client experience while supporting the continued development of its planning teams.

EFE has also named Jason Karmelek Senior Vice President and Head of Planner Growth, where he will focus on expanding the firm’s ability to attract, develop, and support planners and planning teams nationwide. The role reflects EFE’s continued focus on creating differentiated career pathways and practice-building opportunities for planners at every stage of their careers.

In addition, Amin Dabit will move into the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Wealth Strategy. After helping lead the firm’s wealth planning team through a significant period of growth and evolution, Dabit will now focus on strategic initiatives critical to EFE’s future — including planner support and growth infrastructure, planning capabilities, and the thoughtful integration of technology and AI to enhance the human relationships at the center of financial advice.

Collectively, the appointments underscore EFE’s belief that the next era of the financial planning industry must be shaped by firms that invest deeply in planners, innovation, and long-term alignment with clients.

Haberli said: “Our story began at an unconventional intersection of Silicon Valley innovation, Nobel Prize-winning investment rigor, and a mission-driven commitment to everyday investors. Building on our legacy and unique structure, the opportunity ahead for Edelman Financial Engines is significant – because we have demonstrated the ability to deliver deeply personal financial planning at scale, without losing the human relationships at the center of the experience.”
