Ashley Day

Director of Estate Planning

With more than 25 years of experience, Ashley is a senior member of the Advanced Planning Strategies Estate Planning Team. With expertise in estate planning, trust administration and litigation, she helps advisors and clients with integrated estate planning strategies.

Ashley joined Edelman Financial Engines in 2025. She is licensed by the California State Bar and has been a practicing attorney for more than 25 years. Prior to joining EFE, she spent seven years litigating trust and probate matters, drafting estate plans and working with trustees to administer trusts. Prior to that, she served as general counsel to a locally owned national franchise location and litigated catastrophic injury cases for the automotive industry.

Supporting people is her motivation. Ashley loves the fulfilling work of helping individuals with their financial goals, whether it comes through education about the ins and outs of estate planning and administration or by providing support through a stressful situation due to the illness or death of a loved one.

Ashley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in law and society from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University and a Master of Laws - LLM in taxation from Golden Gate University. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her spouse, three children and numerous four-legged family members. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, reading, trying to grow vegetables and traveling. She has also served on the board of directors of a non-profit that provides temporary shelter for unhoused families since 2020.
