Aspire to your full potential

Join a workplace that supports your growth with inclusive career development opportunities.

At Edelman Financial Engines, we’re committed to offering career pathways that foster inclusivity. One such program is We Aspire, which gives employees who want to become a financial planner a clear path for professional development and promotion. The program is open to all, with a core mission to expand representation and access to the financial planning industry for historically underrepresented communities.

During the 9-month program, participants receive hands-on training in financial planning, mentorship from seasoned planners and valuable exposure to key planning leaders. Among past We Aspire participants, 61% have received promotions. Many enter the program as client service associates or analysts and move into roles as financial planners – or even planning directors – upon graduation.

Another key goal of the program is to prepare our financial planners to better serve clients with diverse needs – regardless of their own cultural background – with empathy, understanding and client-centered financial guidance. We Aspire puts a strong focus on diverse needs planning by supporting skill-building in inclusive communication, cultural awareness, and empathy.

Through We Aspire, top-performing employees receive the support and resources they need to advance their careers, and gain the understanding needed to build a financial planning industry that is truly welcoming to everyone.

I live by this quote by Deepak Chopra that says ‘If you want to be something help somebody become it.’ I was a certified financial assistant so I said to myself ‘Alright, well let me go and help somebody become a financial planner.’ I got a job at EFE in 2014 and worked as a CSA for 7 years. We Aspire allowed me to finally realize that I myself could be a financial planner. Without this program I don’t feel like I would have become a planner.

We Aspire was critical. I met my mentor and she was one of the people who said ‘Jovan just hold out, you’re going to get this.’ Those sessions we had, the scripts we ran together, the curriculum, learning about emotional intelligence, the colleagues you meet – you definitely build a network of people you can rely on. I love We Aspire.
